Hao is a computational biologist completing PhD dissertation research at the University of Maryland. Hao uses computational and statistical approaches to tackle complex problems and collaborates with international researchers on studies of multiple sclerosis. His research has been published in numerous journals, including Brain, Neurology, and Immunology. Prior to becoming an academic researcher, he worked in the biomedical industry in quality engineering, clinical trials, and regulatory affairs regarding international regulatory compliance. He holds a BSE in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and a certificate in Computation and Mathematics for Biological Networks from the University of Maryland.
As a first-generation immigrant college graduate, Hao is committed to supporting development and migrant justice. His dedication stems from his transformative experience with Prep for Prep, which fostered his academic and cultural growth. He supported multiple nonprofits in different capacities such as the US board member of Liberty Shared and as a pro-bono graphic designer for nonprofit organizations.
